Tryouts for 2018-2019 Teams


​Tryouts for FC TEANECK Fall 2018 teams will be held on Sunday, May 6th for players born from 2005 to 2010. The sessions will be held in the late afternoon. All players must pre-register for the tryout and wear soccer shin guards covered by long soccer socks and either soccer cleats or sneakers.

The Director of Coaching and/or a professional trainer will lead evaluations duringtryouts.  The evaluations are the basis, but are not the only criteria, for the selection of players and placement on teams. Some players may be required to attend a callback session.

FC TEANECK is the travel-club division of Teaneck Junior Soccer League for players looking for a more competitive, year-round soccer experience than the REC Soccer program. FC TEANECK requires a year-round commitment from players and families.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

What's the difference between FC TEANECK and REC Soccer?

FC TEANECK is a competitive travel soccer program that plays year-round. Teams train twice a week during fall and spring and once a week in winter. Games are against teams across North Jersey. Professional trainers are assigned to each team and work with players every week.


When are the sessions? 

Training sessions are held on Monday through Thursday evenings with the younger teams earlier in the evening and older teams later. Games are held on Saturday nights after sundown and Sundays although some make-up games are played mid-week.

 

Do current FC TEANECK players attend tryouts?

No, The tryouts are for players not currently on a FC TEANECK roster. 

 

If selected, when do the players begin playing?

Teams begin training in August with games starting in September.


What are the fees associated with FC TEANECK?

Fees for the 2018-2019 season have not been set. However, the current fees for registration and uniforms can be found at FC TEANECK Fees and FC TEANECK Uniforms.

FC Hurricanes Win Championship

The FC TEANECK Hurricanes B12 team took home the Spring Fling tournament championship at Superdome Sports in Waldwick NJ. The team knocked off teams from World Class, Maroon and the Americans clubs enroute to the championship. The FC Hurricanes begin their spring season at the end of March.

Summer Soccer Camps

Teaneck Junior Soccer League will offer three camps this summer for Teaneck players ages 7 to 11 (born 2007-2011). The camps will be led by TJSL's Director of Coaching, Tim Serbe, and members of the TJSL coaching staff. 
 

Session 1:  June 25 to June 29

Session 2: July 2-3 & July 5-6

Session 3:  August 27 to August 31

Time: 9:00am to Noon

Location: Votee-Sportsplex

Cost: $100 per player ($80 for Session 2) - includes a soccer ball and t-shirt


Space is limited to 30 players per session. Registration is not final until payment is processed. Don't delay, register today!
 


 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
 

Can a child that has never played soccer attend the camp?

Yes, the camp is open to players with varying levels of experience.

 

Does the child need to be a Teaneck resident?

Yes, the camp is only open to Teaneck residents born from 2007 to 2011.

 

What does the player need to wear and bring?

All players must wear soccer shin guards completely covered by long soccer socks, soccer cleats or sneakers, and proper shorts and t-shirt. Players should also bring plenty of water and any snacks.

 

Does an adult need to stay at the camp?

No. Parents and friends are welcome to watch from the stands. However, the children need to be picked up promptly and an adult needs to be available via phone in case of an emergency or weather issues.

 

Will camp be held rain or shine?

It depends on the weather. Soccer is played in rain but never in thunderstorms nor in heavy rain. At this time, we do not have an indoor option.

Congratulations to the FC TEANECK Fury G12 team. They won their second consecutive Soccer Coliseum winter season championship and their third overall championship in the last four indoor and outdoor seasons.

TOPSoccer Wraps Winter Season

TJSL's TOPSoccer program for special needs players wrapped up its Winter 2018 season. Special thanks to the coaches, buddies, families and players for an amazing season.


About TOPSoccer

TOPSoccer is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any Teaneck boy or girl, ages 5-19, with special needs. This TOPSoccer program is in conjunction with US Youth Soccer TOPSoccer & New Jersey Youth Soccer.

TOPSoccer is offered as an outdoor Fall program or as an indoor Winter program. The 60-minute sessions are held on Sunday afternoons, as below:

  • Fall Program: September to October at Votee Park
     
  • Winter Program: January to March at Teaneck High School

Finland Wins U09 Championship

Finland wrapped up the U09 Indoor REC Soccer championship with a come from behind 4-3 victory over Italy. Finland finished the season with six wins against only two losses to take home the 2017-2018 winter trophies.
